The main research area of our group is to study the functional genes in important legume crops, taking with the advantage of model plant in legumes and diversified technologies in bioinformatics, plant molecular genetics, biochemistry, genetic engineering, and metabolic engineering to carry out four projects:
(1) We will try to dissect the molecular mechanism of compound leaf development in legumes, which could provide theoretical guidance to molecular breeding in legumes;
(2) We aim to uncover the signaling pathway of legume leaf movement, and elucidate the biological basis of this movement phenomenon and its application.
(3) We will try to dissect several important agronomic traits in legume crops which could help us to improve its yield and quality in the future breeding processes.
(4) We will try to dissect the biosynthesis, secondary metabolism and regulation of active ingredients intraditional Chinese medicines of legumes from the southwest of China.
