学习经历
1978-1982年：在北京林业大学学习，获得学士学位；
1988-1989年：在中科院成都外语培训中心学习，获得英语高级班结业证；
1996-1997年：澳大利亚Curtin University of Technology 环境生物学院访问学者；
1997-2001年：在澳大利亚Curtin University of Technology环境生物学院，师从国际著名热带生态学家 John E D Fox 教授，获得理学博士学位。
工作经历
1982-1985年：在中国科学院青藏高原横断山综合考察队从事科考；
1985-1995年：在中国科学院昆明生态研究所从事植物生态学研究；
1993年：被中国科学院特批为副研究员；
1997年：经过中国科学院审批，破格晋升为研究员；
1997-2001年：在澳大利亚科Curtin University of Technology，从事环境生物与恢复生态学研究；
2001年9月至今：因科研成绩显著，连续三届（三年一届）被澳大利亚Curtin University of Technology环境生物学院聘为兼职教授；
2001年10月至今：受聘为中科院西双版纳热带植物园恢复生态创新研究组组长、首席研究员
获奖及荣誉
1. 紫茎泽兰防除研究”获得中国科学院1989年度科技进步二等奖，本人在其中做出了重要贡献；
2.“西南地区生物资源开发与发展战略研究”获得中国科学院1993年度科技进步二等奖，1993年荣获国家科技进步二等奖，本人在其中做出了重要贡献；
3. 1995年荣获中国科学院“方树泉青年科学家奖”；
4.“云南泥石流生物生态工程治理试验示范”获得2000年云南省科技进步三等奖；
5. 1997年获得澳大利亚政府的优秀海外留学生研究奖学金；
6.“山地湿性常绿阔叶林附生（植）物生态学效应”获2003年度云南省自然科学二等奖（排名第一）。
