The Biodiversity Research Group was established in July 2012 by Prof. Richard Corlett. Our research is focusing on the biodiversity hotspots in Yunnan and extending to the Mountains of Southwest China and Southeast Asia. We are integrating research methods including bioinformatics, phylogenomics, biogeography, geoinformatics and ecology, with multi-omics sequencing data and species distribution information, to clarify the origin, evolution and adaptation of tropical/subtropical key organisms, then incorporating the evidence of phylogenetic diversity and genetic diversity to assess the priority areas for biodiversity conservation at the regional and species levels, which will help to provide scientific suggestions and recommendations for the formulation of biodiversity conservation policies and strategies.
